​ABOUT MARY

​Mary E. Knight, CPA, CISA, has worked at The University of Texas at Austin for thirty-five years. She is currently the Associate Vice President for Finance. She is responsible for overseeing Budget, Financial Information Systems, and Payroll. She previously served as Budget Director, Payroll Manager, and Assistant Director in the Office of Internal Audits. During 2015, she served as Interim Vice President and Chief Financial Officer.  She is a Certified Public Accountant and a Certified Information Systems Auditor.

​Mary has served on the University Budget Council and the Tuition Policy Advisory Committee for several years, serving as co-chair in 2015.  She was the inaugural chair of the statewide Budget Committee for the Texas Association of State Senior College and University Business Officers (TASSCUBO).

​Knight volunteers for the Austin Child Guidance Center, a charitable organization dedicated to improving the mental health of children and their families. She previously served on the Board of the University Federal Credit Union and on the Board of the Austin Child Guidance Center as Treasurer.

​Knight graduated from The University of Texas at Austin in 1982 with a BBA in Accounting. She is also a 2004 graduate of Leadership Texas, a leadership development program for women.

​Mary is married to Steve Knight.  They have two grown sons, Eric and his wife Stacy Coplin and Matthew, who went to school with PJ.  Steve coached PJ, Bakari, and Jory in recreational soccer and basketball.
