Welcome to The Bakari Foundation Family!
The application process is now open for The Bakari Foundation’s 2026 Transformative Travel Experience, serving families who have lost loved ones at the hands of another. It is our belief that travel can be used as a healing mechanism for families who have undergone this type of tragic experience. We know this is a sensitive time for your family, and we would love to support you in your healing process.
By completing this application, your family will be considered for the opportunity to experience a purpose-driven, healing, cultural, and all-inclusive international trip that will continue to honor the life and legacy of Bakari Henderson and his love for travel. Applications for 2026 must be submitted by Midnight CST on December 31, 2025, to be eligible for the 2026 Transformative Travel Experience. Potential recipients will be notified no later than February 13, 2026.
Please note, you will need to upload news articles or relevant attachments regarding your loved one, so please have these items saved on your computer in order to add them to your application. Also, family members should live in the same household, with the exception of siblings of the deceased who no longer live at home, may be included in the family unit. Lastly, if any family member is under the age of 12 at the time of travel, your application will not be considered for this year but will remain on file until the youngest family member is 12 or older.
To finish the application, be sure to click the “SUBMIT” button at the bottom of the application form and you will receive a confirmation email.
